The Way

The way you touch my hair
Gentle, hard, forgiving.
The way you move all of me there
As the world around us keeps spinning

The way our smiles dance together
Laughing, contented, free willing
The way we melt in the great wherever
As space moves us to coexisting

The way your eyes quiet my questions
Kind, strong, protecting
The way no words spill our intentions
As our senses are still persisting

The way you look into my thoughts
Seeing, deep, redeeming
The way you caress even broken parts
As night heats up to steaming

The way our stares know each other
Mischievous, sweet, blushing
The way we shudder when undercover
As our skin simmers to flushing

The way your strength shakes my senses
Quiet, potent, directing
The way soft smiles break your defenses
As each shift glides towards perfecting

The way you hug my hips tight
Light, secure, possessing
The way you see all of my delight
As the seconds keep us guessing

The way our dreams melt to each other
Seemless, consuming, yielding
The way we never seem to recover
As the minutes leave us reeling

The way your touch slowly matures
Knowing, confident, existing
The way my hand lays in yours
As we know time is just beginning

Shadows

A trickle of salt
laying down of tears.
A day seems so dark
heightening so many fears.

Gentle longing for the day
where sleep rests easy.
No more uncertainty where to lay
instead in a bed, calm and breezy.

Night shadows which once came alive
some day will ebb in still air.
Replaced with a will to thrive
fears now lacking their evil stare.

Gray creeps towards a light grin
lips smile assuredly bountiful.
A hope of serenity slides in
coolly touching all that is needful.

Feelings of unanimity sprint towards destiny
where one day lightness will come.
Moments of oneness will emerge sweetly
and safe arms will make you feel home.

This Sin

Is this sin a feeling within
Is it truth or dare
To know yourself
To know that sultry stare

Will you be cast out
Among the low and degraded
When everything you had given
Was your all that was elated

Do you know who you are
Or where your boundaries once lay
Are you willing to give in
Before night turns to day

Have you gazed at the aura
Under the spell of a soft sashay
Of pear-shaped hips so perfect
Upon where you’ve seen the gentle sway

Does your chest catch your breath
From seeing curves expertly sloped
Does the flesh of the back amaze
Even more than you once hoped

Is it alright to feel
Supple skin lovingly cared for
Embracing each tiny sinew
Needing not just now but more

Are you emboldened by a smile
Shy cheeks dimpled gently
Is there anything less than light
Behind dark eyes raised intently

Can you imagine a reason
For which to deny your certainty
Should you leave these questions unanswered
Or embrace all with breathless temerity

Fearful

So much fear
Lurking darkly in the soul
Strength always was present
yet could not have shone through.

One look was only needed
To quell silent questions
When pain slowly crept in
and burrowed in so deep.

Each night, despair gave itself life
Each day was scarcely lived
Clouded memories barely lasted
yet fear is remembered years later.

There was no truth,
Only perpetuations of variance
Honor knew nothing of that life
and the spirit died each day.

Life was stolen in that time
Comfort no longer had a home
Security fell away to the dark
yet hope tried to survive.

War was fought within the self
Questioned how much can one stand
Rumblings of panic flooded quickly
and clarity burned through all.

There could be no great death
This was not a life lived freely
Facades crumbled to earthen cinders
yet time still needed to prevail.

Years later, the air breathes
Eyes bespeak freedom gained
Wastes of fear long gave way
and each dawn starts anew.

In a Lifetime

Gone now
though never ever there
But there it was in one moment,
Naked feet walking in dewy grass.

Warmth in the sky
Heat everywhere and yet nowhere
But there were the smiles,
The blinding light of the lips could last forever.

There is no pulse, no breath
No minutes or day
But there was a lifetime once,
Lived only by the nights of last.

Now past never revisits
Scenes played out but never lived
But sorrow lost its home,
Contentment presses in eager to shine.

No Longer Unfinished

It’s been so long
since the leaves became dry
Since I saw your smile
and laughed with your eyes

So completely have things changed
I perhaps was not ready
Admittedly, still enamored
with emotions so heady

Time passed with silence
and seasons willed their change
No longer any pretense
and all became estranged

Two minds were so close
could have almost been one
But one willing party
has gradually turned to none.

Time

Everything is so different.
Subtly, Life turned to me
And whispered “I’m here”
then left in a rolling wind

Everything is so different.
I close my eyes
And memories crash forth
wanting a place to reside

Everything is so different.
I stand outside in light warmth
And take in sweet scents
that ache as they pass through

Everything is so different.
The day breathes in
And thoughts collide stunningly
boldly possessing all that’s laid bare

Everything is so different.
Strongly, exhalations of the past fall
And give way to newness
brought forth by a soaking rain.
